What's What...

This isn't going to be too long of a blog post. Been really busy on a number of fronts recently. Lots of excitement and opportunities have been knocking on the door, both for me as an individual and for the site, so we will have word on them soon.

To give ya'll a taste:

*Expect the newest Gulf Coast Poker Magazine out some time after the world series.

*Haven't even had the chance to update Gene about this who was dealing with a family illness this past week. My thoughts and prayers have been with him, but I met some great guys that do a poker telecast in Lafayette, and the wheels have been spinning about some possibilities, and we hope to get GCP involved.

*Personally, we go see the doctor today about the baby in mommy's belly. Our son gets that "baby" and "belly" have something to do with each other, but interestingly, and perhaps, scary enough when we ask him "Are you excited about a baby sister?" or any variation like "Do you want a sister?" "Are you ready for a baby to come live with us?" The answer is always an emphatic "NO!" with a head shake. Gulp!

I walk to the car, try to metaphorically wipe the bird crap off my shoulders and contemplate how my bankroll got severely lightened on the day. I recall the fun hands where I got hurt, such as the one when I raised preflop and got a few callers. Flop was 882. I fire out an almost pot size bet and I get a caller. Turn is another 2. I make the same bet and get a call. River is 6 or so. I check, he checks. I show 99. Dealer is about to hand me the pot as he shows 7-2. He points to the deuce for her benefit and the turned full house. At first I think he's doing it for me rubbing it in a bit. My frustration is evident and I fire him a look, then I realize who is dealing, and see that she still almost swept me the pot. She of the 8 deals per 30 minutes and two mistakes per down. You know who she is. The dealer you are suprised to see every time you play there thinking she'd be fired. Still, I wanted to be angry at the dude as even though he wasn't showing me up he was destroying

Corona Virus Tips

I was asked to share this.   Some useful tips in here. This is exhaustive.  Author is an anonymous Gulf Coast Poker Player who is recovering from a bad virus. -------------------------------------------------------------- You think you have corona virus or you tested positive?   I know just how you feel.   It’s pretty scary, but I got you.   I’ve piled in a ton of info in here to help you get it through it.   I’m coming through more than two weeks of a terrible virus, I don’t have a positive test result but multiple doctors told me I had Covid19 . I’m looking into getting an antibody test to confirm and to possibly donate plasma when they can handle that.    As I dodged a hospital and was able to self quarantine I had what’s called a mild case.   -Bad news my mild case was worse then any illness I’ve ever had.   -Good news most mild cases are not as bad as mine.   -Better news 80% or so of all case are mild cases and don’t require a hospital.   -Even better ne

A solid month of poker with Gulf Coast Poker tournaments continues at Poker Gras right now.  As always this is only thanks to the hard work, belief in poker, and contributions of others.  So let's say the much needed Thank Yous! First off...  Thank you to the players reading this and traveling to our events and making suggestions to improve our product or tweak an event--we thank each and every one of you.  Not to mention all of you liking, sharing, tweeting and retweeting.   We are lucky to have so many great and supportive believers across our footprint. Most important part of getting people to tournament is word of mouth.  And we appreciate all the nice things you've said about us and our partners.  Not to mention, first time, we've ever been at an event and the players in it were rooting for the guarantee to be met... not missed.
